It's that time of year: garage sale season.

People are cleaning out their basements, attics and garages. Some are just doing the routine house cleaning, while others are downsizing or preparing for a move.

It's fun to go freestylin' as Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz?from the American Pickers television show on the History Channel like to call it. You know, just jump in the car and drive around a bit until you see a sale that catches your eye.

My neighbor and her husband are early risers. They hit the garage sale scene nearly every Saturday before most of us are even out of bed. I must say,?they get some great deals: an exercise bike for $7; a kitchen table and chairs for $50; a double Adirondack-style glider for the backyard for $10. They have a lot fun re-painting and re-staining their purchases and then the items look like new.
